Whether you are an experienced birder,

a novice or interested in a class for beginners,we can arrange an outing that matches(challenges) your experience and knowledge level.

 

We offer outings on land and by boat in order to see birds in the rich variety of habitats  included in the 150,000 acre wildlife refuge.

have been recorded here.488 species have been recorded in the state of Yucatan and 533 on the Yucatan Peninsula.

Of course, the time of year,passage of migratory flocks and a bit of luck is always a part of birding but the amazing array of birds never ceases to amaze our visitors.

8.00 am arrival at Las Palapas restaurant for  breakfast

8.45 am birding at scrub forest Specialties such as : Black-throated Bobwhite, Zenaida Dove, Mexican Sheartail, Yucatan Wren, White-lored Gnatcatcher, raptors ( laughing falcon , great black hawk, crane hawk, lesser yellow headed vulture , zone tailed hawk) Ridgway´s Rougt-winged Swallow and many others

 

12.45 pm lunch at restaurant las palapas de la toreja

 

1.45 pm birdwatching Boat ride  species such as : bare throated tiger heron, boat billed heron, redish egret, roseate spoonbilled heron, conmon black hawk, royal tern, caspian tern, anhinga, belted kingfisher, osprey , shore birds ( semipalmated plover, wilson´s plover, American oyster catcher ) and many others.

 

5.30 pm Back to your  hotel.
